Ladybower Apartments Access Statement

Pre-Arrival

We have a website and are also listed on www.premiercottages.co.uk.
Bookings/enquiries can be made online or via email, fax, phone or mobile.
There is a bus service that stops outside the entrance to the driveway to Ladybower Apartments.

The nearest train station is at Bamford, which is 2 miles away at the lower end of the village (Ladybower Apartments can be found to the north of Bamford). There are no taxis at the station but we can book a taxi or collect you ourselves if we have sufficient notice.

Arrival

Ladybower Apartments are located in the old pump house for Ladybower Reservoir. The building has been sympathetically restored to retain original features and as a result there are many different levels within the building. We have tried to describe these to you below to allow you to judge if we meet your access requirements.

The Apartments are accessed via a number of steps and regrettably because of the nature of the building conversion it has not proved feasible to provide wheel chair access to Bridge Suite, Bridgewater or Bridge Park. The apartments are accessible to all others that can manage steps and there is a handrail to all steps.

Upon arrival you will need to register at the Yorkshire Bridge Inn which is opposite Ladybower Apartments. The Inn has level car parking access to the front of the building and disabled parking to the side. An additional lower level car park is located at the rear. The reception desk is on ground floor level. Once you have registered we will escort you to Ladybower Apartments and show you around your chosen apartment.

Ladybower Apartments

You will enter the site via a pedestrian gate or an electric gate for vehicles. The pedestrian gate is opened manually whilst the electric gate can be opened using a key fob. We issue one key fob per apartment and this needs to be returned to us upon departure. Entering a code into the digital pad housed on the gate pillar can also open the electric gate. We will advise you of the code when we escort you into the apartment.

Once through the gate you come up a 100 metre tarmac drive. The drive slopes up towards the property and there are parking spaces on either side of the driveway. The first 7 spaces on the left adjacent to the entrance gate are designated for visitor’s cars. These spaces can be utilised if you have more than two cars. There are two parking spaces allocated to each of our apartments and these are at the top of the tarmac drive, approximately 20 metres from the main entrance to the property. It is not possible to take a car directly to the entrance of Bridge Suite, Bridgewater or Bridge Park, although we are happy to help you to unload your car and can provide a trolley to take luggage, provisions etc.

Bridge Suite

You enter the main building via a pair of large double doors. These doors are opened manually but require a four-digit code, which has to be entered into a digital pad located on the wall to the right of the doors. We will advise you of the code when we escort you to your apartment. The code releases the door security system and allows the doors to be opened. (To exit there is a switch on the interior wall to the left of the door).

Once in the main reception there are a pair of doors to the right and these lead into a circulation area. Bridge Suite apartment is on the upper level and is accessed via stairs to the left of the circulation area. There are 3 flights of stairs up to Bridge Suite. There are 6 steps in the first flight, 5 in the second and finally 5 in the third. Handrails are provided. The landing area then turns to the left and there is a flight of 3 steps leading down to a single door. Upon opening the door you come to the main entrance to Bridge Suite apartment to your left.

The door to Bridge Suite is opened with a key and leads into a small reception area where coats, umbrellas etc can be stored. Straight ahead of you on the same level is a door leading to the main entrance hall. To your right is the twin bedroom and en-suite bathroom which has a shower with a 23cm step in. Four metres down the hall to your left is the main family bathroom. Directly ahead are the doors leading into the sitting room/dining room and this room leads into the kitchen and utility room. The sitting room is spacious with windows to the floor allowing good views from the sitting position. Going back to the entrance hall and to the left of the doors to the sitting room/dining room is the double bedroom. Opposite the double bedroom is the airing cupboard. All of these areas of Bridge Suite are on the same level.

To the left of the double bedroom and airing cupboard is a flight of 3 steps up to the main king size bedroom and en-suite bathroom which has a shower with a 23cm step in.

All of the bedrooms are carpeted, as are the three steps leading up to the main bedroom. The bathrooms, kitchen and utility room all have tiled floors. The hall, sitting and dining room have laminate flooring.

These doors are opened manually but require a four-digit code, which has to be entered into a digital pad located on the wall to the right of the doors. We will advise you of the code when we escort you to your apartment. The code releases the door security system and allows the doors to be opened. The patio is not enclosed and the adjacent garden area is a steeply sloping embankment planted with shrubs, heathers etc. It is not laid to lawn and is not a suitable playing area for children.

You may also enter and exit Bridgewater via the patio doors. Upon exit onto the flat terraced area you can walk around the front of the building via a gravel footpath, which leads to a gated sloping tarmac path which then leads up to the car park area.
